I am super excited!! Aside from my Brussels sprouts, my vegetable garden is PLANTED!! Woot!
This Sunday I finally took the plunge and planted my transplants! A bit risky, I know, but despite this current cold spell we have going on right now, the ground is warm and I feel that it was time. Not to say it was without injury...
I also ended up with a blister that has since faded.
I am just thrilled at how great things are coming along, I wanted to share them with you!

On our little urban, half-acre plantation, my husband and I are not left wanting when it comes to garden space (except wanting a farm...and a house in Ireland...) but being the thrifty person that I am I like to know that I am making the most of what I've got. But as I haven't yet [yet] convinced my husband to put in a chicken coop and till me another tier to my veggie garden, I try to make my garden beautiful as well as functional. For example,

For the last few years I have been starting seeds in those little plastic Burpee or Jiffy seed starting greenhouses. I am here to tell you, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY. They are flimsy for the cost and those ghastly peat pods never expand to their expected size, they hold too much water initially and then never quite absorb the way they are supposed to again, PLUS the little "biodegradable" netting so not biodegradable.
